DAURA, NIGERIA – February 10, 2024 – The Daurama Foundation marked the beginning of an impactful journey on February 10, 2024, as it unveiled its first intervention project in Daura. This initiative reflects the foundation’s commitment to creating sustainable, positive change in communities across Nigeria.

Samira Buhari, the Founder/CEO of Daurama Foundation, shared her vision during the event’s launch: “The initiative we launched today in Daura represents the first step in our long-term commitment to community empowerment and development. By closely working with the local community, we developed solutions to address Daura’s specific challenges, ensuring our efforts would lead to sustainable improvements. We aim not just to plant seeds but to cultivate a future where these efforts would flourish into lasting benefits for our communities.”

The foundation’s Programs Manager emphasized the strategic approach behind their work: “Our commitment to excellence and deep local engagement ensures that our projects meet immediate needs and also builds the foundation for enduring success. This project in Daura is a prime example of how we intend to combine local insights with global best practices to achieve remarkable outcomes.”

The project made significant strides, providing over 1,500 adolescent school girls with menstrual hygiene kits, addressing a vital aspect of female health and empowerment. Additionally, essential kits were provided to support the pregnancy journey of 200 women, and over 30 traditional birth attendants were equipped with enhanced birthing materials, leading to a significant improvement in maternal care standards in Daura.

As the foundation embarked on this venture, Samira Buhari reiterated the importance of taking action: she explained that, “at Daurama Foundation, we understand the power of action. Our initiative in Daura was a tangible expression of our words turned into action, transforming our commitment into real-world impact.”
